1. Is Little Paper Planes an authorised Maileg stockist?
Yes. We are an authorised Australian stockist, which means our Maileg arrives directly through the correct supply chain and is guaranteed genuine. If you've been offered Maileg from an unfamiliar source at a very low price, it may not be. Every piece on this page is the real thing.
2. Can I hold a Maileg mouse before I buy it?
Yes, please do. We're a real store in Mount Martha, and much of our Maileg range is on the shelves. If you're not sure which size or which character is right, come and see. Weekends can be busy — weekdays are quieter if you'd like time to look properly.
3. My child already has a Maileg mouse — how do I know what will fit it?
Maileg mice come in a small number of standard sizes, and clothing, furniture, and beds are made to match. The most common sizes are Baby (~6.4cm, fits My furniture), Little Sister & Brother (~10cm, fits Micro furniture), Big Sister & Brother (~13cm, fits Micro furniture), and Mum & Dad (~15cm, also Micro). If you're not sure what you already have, our Beginner's Guide has a full size chart. If it's still not clear, message us and tell us what your existing mouse looks like — we'll work it out.
4. Is Maileg a good first gift, or is it better for older children, or even adult collectors?
Everyone.
Plush Maileg pieces are cuddly companions that grow with a child from about age three onward. The mice, bunnies and dollhouse pieces are made for imaginative play once a child starts building stories, usually around three or four. For newborns and babies, Maileg pieces make beautiful gifts to be shelved and admired — the kind of piece a family displays now and hands to the child to play with when they're ready. It's not unusual for a Maileg to be gifted at a birth, watched from a shelf for two or three years, then quietly become the child's most-loved toy. And Maileg isn't only for children. A significant part of the community is adult collectors who love the whimsy, the design, and the world of it — sometimes shared with children in their lives, sometimes kept purely for themselves.
Please check each individual product for age guidance, but as a rule, Maileg follows European toy safety standards, and all pieces are labelled with the appropriate age recommendation.
5. When do new Maileg pieces arrive in Australia?
Maileg releases two main collections a year — Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter — plus special editions for Christmas, Easter, and other moments. New pieces reach us in Mount Martha soon after they land in Denmark. The best way to know what's coming is to follow us on Instagram or ask us in store — we usually know what's on the boat.
